In a nutshell counselling is geared towards helping resolve specific difficulties and behaviours. It can be short term and offer tools to help approach situation differently. This can be done through changing our thinking and behaviour

What is the difference between counselling and therapy?

Therapy tends to be more in-depth and longer term. In practice the two tend to overlap and the terms are often interchangeable.

What are the differences between cognitive (talking) and creative therapies?

All therapy helps us to gain insight about who we are, how we feel and behave. Creative therapists will in addition to “talking”, integrate creative arts expression to help understand feelings, emotions and thought processes.

What to look for when choosing a counselling professional

Not all counselling professionals hold a recognized Post Graduate qualification in counselling but it does provide some assurance that the counsellor has the theoretical skills to provide a quality and effective service to you.
